SERVICE PROJECTS
| My son, Lloyd and I each have service projects, and we plan to share the page and PayPal account where supporters can make donations.
An ongoing support project, started more than a year ago, was to rescue the tribal newspaper Sicangu Sun Times on the RoseBud Indian Reservation in South Dakota. http://www.theoservice.org/node/241
The computer they used for creating the newspaper was old, had failed, and the newspaper was "dead in the water."
I consider the newspaper to be a vital element for improving life on the Reservation, and that it should be supported as necessary.
We bought replacement computers and an office printer, and they are now in service.
However, during this economic situation of 2008 and following, newspaper advertisers have fallen behind in paying their bills, and in turn the newspaper has fallen behind in paying the printer bills.
I'm looking for help with this.
We need about $1,000.00. Any amount of help will be gratefully received and acknowledged with thanks. Donations to our projects go 100% to the intended project or recipients - no administrative costs, no salaries, strictly volunteer service.
